Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince for PlayStation 3 sees improved game play over the previous games in the Harry Potter PS3 series. As the story has become more sophisticated, so has the control, with the player benefiting from better joystick wand action. Playing as Harry Potter, this action adventure game developed by EA includes flight as well as many fantasy realms to explore. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (PS3) is not a level-structured game but rather one that can be played as chosen, with the aim being to help Dumbledore reveal Voldemort’s history. There are a number of mini-games included within Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince for PlayStation 3, with the potions game putting the player into first-person mode, rather than third. As in the other Harry Potter PS3 games, Hermione and Ron are there to support play. Additional characters include the Weasleys, Severus Snape, and Draco Malfoy. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (PS3) gives the player the opportunity to play Quidditch, flying around on a broomstick as the team captain. The combat aspect of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince for PlayStation 3 takes the form of wand battles with six spells available to perfect. This game is suitable for players age 12 and over.
